Compadres RundFunk posted news about a new Lee Fields album a few weeks ago. But since this just came to my attention recently, and there is a free track off the new album that is still available for download, this post is to remind you of Lee Fields‘ great vocal stylings. The best news is that Lee is once again backed by a great vintage sounding soul/funk outfit, called The Expressions. The Expressions consists of many members of El Michels Affair, including Homer Steinweiss (of The Dap-Kings) and Leon Michels. The new album is called ‘My World’ and will be released on Truth & Soul Records on june 2nd. Find out more about the album on the Truth & Soul page (pre-order available). There is also an excellent review for the non-dutch readers on the Evil Monito blog.

In related news, Budos Band is set to release a new EP on June 23th on Daptone Records, a label that has seen Lee collaborating with acts like Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings and Sugarman Three.
