Summer of SJU makes sure to provide you with sizzling beats and cool grooves to match your summer moods. The Summer of Fudge consists of the SJU’s top DJ’s spinning every friday 23h till late. No bands, just DJ’s bringing the sunniest summer vibes.

August 6th is the first friday of august, so naturally Mama’s Funky Flow are there with raw beats, sunshine grooves and ass-shaking breaks.

Saturday June 26th, the third edition of the annual Utrecht Jazz Festival Jazz-A-Palooza will take place at various locations in Utrecht. Among others, I guess SpeakLOW is the band you will dig most if you are reading this, and of course Euro Cinema.

We have the honor to finish the festival with our Funky Fresh blend of old & new funk from far and near, smashed in your ears to make your feet move.

Tracin’ Tracy play what they call ‘urban jazz‘, a combination of acid jazz and hard bop from the sixties and seventies. The band is inspired by a variety of styles, including zhouk, ragga, jazz & punk. It sounds like it could be interesting, so check out their site(s)!

It’s a new year, and it’s our first gig of 2010! To mark this first time of the year, the SJU has planned something extra special. Not a funk band, but you will find that there is undeniably some funky brass in this combo. To make this first friday extra partylicious the band playing are the Skarabeez, an outfit specialized in ska and uptempo reggae, who have proven to be able to get the SJU jumping and grooving on previous occasions. After this jump-up experience, it is time to get down with the dirty raw funksters of Mama’s Funky Flow, serving you raw funk in their well known funky fresh style.

We have been asked to provide the funky tunes for the Funked Up! festival in Leiden, that will be held on October 16th at the LVC. This means Mama’s Funky Flow will be treating you to some of the freshest raw beats and funk tracks in between bands and host the dance floor to end the festival with a DJ set that will make you dance till your soles hurt and you are cooked, broiled and properly funked up!

The MadFreshF*dge friday night experience continues with masters of the raw vibe, Mama’s Funky Flow @ F*dge (SJU) Before we unleash our freshest flavours to light the floor on fire, Stenis will warm up the crowd with some ‘groovejazz’. Piscine Bleue will jazz-groove their way into your nervous system with their infectious and intelligent tripdubdrumnjazz.

Atmospherical groove oriented trip hop-dub-drum & bass in a jazz line up. obstinate wide atmospheres are generated with the aid of effect gear and samples. The music of piscine bleue can be characterized as both dance and jazz.
