This will be great, I’m sure. This is one of the most higly anticipated albums of 2008 for me! Also go buy some tickets for the Alice Russell concert in Paradiso, you won’t be disappointed.

Z-trip has a free mix out, in which he uses his mixing skills to endorse Obama for the upcoming elections.Highly recommended, even if you’re not an American or Obamist.

Just dicovered: Hotpolitics. Judging from the 4 tracks on their myspace page, this is a tight grooving modern funk band. Hotpolitics is once again a tight funk band from America and proves there are still new acts to be discovered every day!

To be released soon: Mr. Confuse (myspace) - Feel The Fire CD/2LP - Légègere Recordings - September 2008. Some people may already know Mr. Confuse from his 12″ ‘Lookout Weekend’, featuring a grooving remix by my all time favourite producer, Lack of Afro. Now he returns with a full album release, and from the reactions I’ve heard this is a winner! This is not pure raw funk, but a really well produced album with non stop grooving tracks, most of which will make you dance. Lookout Weekend, here comes Mr. Confuse!

The Sweet Vandals have a new remix online for their killer track ‘too much’. It is a nice rework by Santi, but it does take off some of the rawness and the energy of the original. Check it on their myspace page. It is on the cd-single release for ‘beautiful’. I couldn’t help but notice another track there, ‘you’re losing me’ that I didn’t know about, but judging from the artwork it was released on the Soulinus & Dj Pun compilation ‘This is DJ’s Choice’. Both releases are on Unique Records.

This is what Unique states about the remix themselves:
“As ‘Too Much’ is really made for remixing the b-side comes up with two special remixes by The Dynamics and by The Vandals themself. Better to say the Vandals’ incredible organist Santi: ‘We need another remix? I’ll make one.’ And so he did it – what a remix! Anew the focus lies on cool sound and souly groove. Lefties Soul Connection have a new track on the MPM myspace. It’s uptempo rolling hammond funk, just what we’re used to. It doesn’t rank up to my favourites by them, but it’s still classic LSC so check it out for yourself.
